About us

our Mission

Breaking Chains Women’s Ministries is a ministry whose foundation is built on love and encouragement. We meet Monday evenings at 6:00 for meals and fellowship and discussion starts at 6:30 and we are committed to each other’s healing. Our objective is to be a safe, confidential place where women can share their hurt and believe there is emotional and divine healing. We are honest, and our conversations are thought-provoking, passionate, and sometimes with tears. Our time together is our source of healing for the pain we have endured or are currently enduring. We lift each other up in love, God’s word, and are committed to each other’s healing.

our Vision

Our vision is for every woman to see herself through the eyes of God, for every woman to embrace His love and understand the purpose of her pain. She will know without a doubt that her life will be a story of healing for other women, and she will be ready to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. She will know she is blessed by the Lord by holding Isaiah 61:3 in her heart “...To bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of despair...”. She will wear her crown of beauty fully dependent on the Word of God. We see a vision where there is a Breaking Chains Women’s Ministry in every church or town for the healing and edification of all women. In addition to that we want to institute a transitional home with resources for those women who need a help up who have been set back from life’s challenges.

Our logo

If you look closely at the Breaking Chains logo, you will notice a women breaking free of chains with other butterflies flying away. That just means when a chain is broken we all fly with her in her transformation. All through our organization and our events you will see butterflies reminding our women of their beautiful transformation.

Are butterflies mentioned in the Bible? No. The Bible speaks on everything, and I believe God made this little creature to show us how a life of ugly sin can be transformed into something beautiful when we accept Christ as our Savior. Before transforming, we notice that the butterfly is merely a worm crawling slowly because its body is heavy. Once that transformation begins, it comes light and can move around quickly without effort because the weight is lifted. All that is

left to be shown in its beauty because of its new life, which it can live off because of what God has provided. That transformation has changed from a crawling caterpillar stuck on a tree into a free gorgeous butterfly. That transformation is exactly what God wants to do for us. God wants to take the weight and ugliness of sin we have once we accept Him as our Lord and Savior, and make us beautiful and make our burdens light. Once accepting Him, we are now His everything; our past can no longer hold us down.

Our new life is a life of trust, and we have been set free. Like butterflies, our transformation can be dramatic and take time, but the new life is a life of freedom, one in which God adorns us with His beauty and makes us stunning and gorgeous in His sight. When a caterpillar thinks its life is over, it emerges more beautiful and with a new life.

We can think of the caterpillar as our old self. When the caterpillar turns into a cocoon, that is our transformation period, where Jesus begins to work on our hearts. When the butterfly emerges, it's symbolic of us emerging new in Christ. That is what choosing to follow Jesus is like, we shed the old versions of ourselves, our old self dies, and we emerge as a new creation in Christ.
